A store owner was tacking a sign above his door that read "Puppies For Sale."「

・tack: びょうで止める(to fasten sth in place with a TACK )

The store owner smiled and whistled and out of the kennel came Lady, who ran down the aisle of his store followed by five teeny, tiny balls of fur.「店の主人がにっこりと笑って口笛を吹くと、犬小屋から女性が出てきて、店の通路を5匹のちいさなちいさな毛のボールをひき連れてきた。

・aisle :通路(a passage between rows of seats in a church, theatre, train, etc, or between rows of shelves in a supermarket)

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr."

Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty from EcoKids Club - Children Nursery Rhyme - Kids Songs

・"‥and out of the kennel came Lady"は倒置。

・"run down ‥followed by~" :動詞が come, go, lie, run, sit, stand, walk等の後ろに分詞を置いた場合、「~しながら」(現在分詞の場合)、「~された状態で」(過去分詞の場合)の意味になる。

ex-1.The dog came running.(犬が走ってきた。)

ex-2.He sat surrounded by his fans.(彼はファンに囲まれて立っていた。)

That little dog is worth every bit as much as all the other dogs and‥「あの子犬は他の犬と全く同じ価値があり、‥」

・every bit as~as‥:‥とまったく同じように~

ex.He's every bit as clever as his father.

ex.He is every bit a scholar.(彼はどこからどこまでも学者だ)

sure enough:思ったとおり(used to say that sth happened as expected)

(If you single someone out from a group, you choose them and give them special attention or treatment.)
◇limp:足をひきずる(to walk slowly and with difficulty because one leg is hurt or injured)

◇cripple:  〈体の一部,特に手足を〉不自由にする( to damage sb’s body so that they are no longer able to walk or move normally)

That little dog is worth every bit as much as all the other dogs and I'll pay full price. In fact, I'll give you $2.37 now, and 50 cents a month until I ( エ ) him paid for."

語群:[ attract, examine, follow, have, understand ]

The company has paid her five hundred dollars.
The company has paid five hundred dollars to her.

How much did you pay him for those shoes?

Have these things been paid for?

本問で、” I ( エ ) him paid for.” そうなると、him はpaid for
