灘高校 2017年度入試問題（英語） 第4問、第6問
第4問は文法問題です。誤文訂正ですが、今年の問題は比較的簡単な問題でした。
(2)は関係代名詞の基本、(3)は"by"と"until"の使い分け、(4)は"one of ～"の用法、(5)は関係代名詞と関係副詞の区別が問われています。（１）はちょっと考えたかもしれません。
I don't think the idea which a lot of Japanese young people should study abroad is right.
どこが間違いかわかりますか？
第６問は、語彙と文法問題で、多肢選択(四択）形式です。
(1)(4)は紛らわしい単語の使い分けの問題です。
(1) My teacher ( ) our reason for being late.
ｱ. accepted ｲ. admitted ｳ. instructed ｴ. received
アとイで悩むと思います。
◇accept : to say ‘yes’ to an offer, invitation, etc(申し出や招待を受諾する）
ex.He decided not to accept the job.
◇admit : to agree, often unwillingly, that sth is true(あることが正しいと〈渋々〉同意する）
ex. He admitted his mistakes to us.
これだけじゃよくわからんなあ～と思って、さらに英英辞典を見ると、
◇accept: to agree to take or deal with something that someone gives you, or to say that it is suitable or good enough(ある人が与えたものをうけとったり、対処することに同意する、もしくは、適しているとか十分であるとする）
ex.Please accept my apologies.
これですね。
(4) Yuta has been studying Korean because when he visited Seoul last year, he was ( ) to have conversations with the people there.
ｱ. impossible ｲ. incapable ｳ. unable ｴ. uninformed
◇impossibleは、「人が～するのが不可能」の意味では「人」を主語にできない。
ex.The question is impossible to answer.（〇）
It is impossible to answer the question.（〇）
He is impossible to answer the question.(✕）
◇incapable は"be incapable of ～ing"で「～することができない」の意味です。
ex. He is incapable of answering the question.
◇uninformedは「〈情報を〉知らされていない、無知な」の意味です。ア～ウとは意味が違います。なんで選択肢にあるんだろ？
ex. I am uninformed about air pollution.
紛らわしい単語の選択問題は灘高頻出なので、重要単語については整理した方がいいでしょう。
(2) I could hardly sleep last night, ( ) him snoring horribly the whole night.
ｱ. and ｲ. in ｳ. while ｴ. with
問題を解く前に、"snoring"ってなんやねんな？と思った受験生が多かったのでは？
◇snoring＜snore:いびきをかく
ということは、「私は昨晩ほとんど眠れなかった。彼が一晩中ひどくいびきをかいていたから。」という意味にすればいいんだから、エの"with"が入ると。付帯状況のwithですね。
◇with + O + 分詞（形容詞・前置詞〈句〉）
He listened to music, with his eyes closed.
(彼は目をとじて音楽を聞いた。〈同時：～しながら〉）
With darkness approaching,we decided to go home.
（夜が近づいたので、家に帰ることにした。〈原因・理由：～なので〉）
問題は、ｳ. whileです。
I could hardly sleep last night, while him snoring horribly the whole night.
はダメなの？長くなりそうなので続きは後日。
